No cute name for our wine club, just generous discounts on great wines!

Also, one reason we have decided to produce a smaller quantity of a larger number of wines rather than the other way around is to have the ability to offer an attractive diversity, not only at the winery but also to our wine club.

October 2009 Release

Fall Wine Club Release

2005 Cabernet Franc & 2006 Petite Sirah

Dear Wine Club Member:

Our Fall Wine Club Release will be ready for pick-up on weekend of October 17-18th.  This weekend coincides with our Fall Harvest Party on Saturday the 17th.

Here's more on the wines:

2005 Cabernet Franc (Sierra Foothills):

Finished in a more traditional Bordeaux style, this wine gives you extra body and crispness and a somewhat deeper color than is typical of this varietal, adding to its flexibility with foods.  The subtle varietal floral/violet aroma notes will intensify with aging.  Beside matching nicely with lamb (with a little bit of fat), it will work well with marbled beef and you can even pair it with meat pizza for a casual meal.   Silver Medal at the 2009 California State Fair & Amador County Fair.
Retail $23 (wine club release price $18.40).

2006 Petite Sirah (Clarksburg, Salman Vineyards):

A velvety beginning without the tannic astringency of many Petite Sirahs.  The subtle opening plum/berry fruit intensifies in mid-palate, continuing to a lush, lingering finish.  Great with steak, but wonderful on its own. Retail $23 (wine club release price $18.40)

Your credit card will be charged for the 20% discounted price plus applicable taxes, shipping and packaging. The cost for pickup at the winery, including local sales tax is $39.88.  For our out-of-town members, unless you tell us otherwise, the wines will be shipped according to your prior directions and total cost will include local tax & shipping rates.

Exclusive Tasting for Wine Club Members, Saturday, October 17th, 11:30m (just before theHarvest Party).

Jacques will present a unique tasting of wines he brought back from his recent visit to Bordeaux (St-Emilion & Pessac-Léognan) after he judged in Paris at the Vinalies Internationales wine competition in February.  A great opportunity to contrast the Bordeaux style of our new 2005 Cabernet Franc with the real thing !

Don't forget one of your Member Benefits - Bring along your friends and out of town visitors to Solune and they will receive your Wine Club Discount rate on their purchases. We are open every weekend from 12 to 5.

Hope to see you on October 17th!

A Votre Santé

Andrea & Jacques
